A Primer on Successfully Combating the Alinsky Method.
This is intended as the beginning of a series on surviving the Alinsky strategy, not sinking to its level or being bulldozed by it.
Saul Alinsky wrote the book that made the New Left possible. The New Left grew out of the Old Left in the period from autumn 1956 to summer 1968. Alinsky’s book Rules for Radicals was one of its earliest and most central manuals.
Rules talks about how to manipulate, deceive and control both friends and opponents, to produce the appearance of a majority, of a moral high-ground position, or of inevitable success, regardless of reality. For 40 or 45 years, we’ve been watching the manipulation play out around us.
We’ve been waiting for the general public to notice it and become immune. That might never happen. Instead, we need to redouble our efforts to push back.
